2012 BBYF Scholarship Celebration

This year's Bobby Bragan Youth Foundation scholarship winners and finalists were honored Sunday, April 15th on the campus of the University of Texas at Arlington. This year saw a record 225 finalists who participated for the chance to receive a $2,500 scholarship--a 19% increase in participation over last year. Ultimately, 37 winners were chosen from the finalist pool.

Ivan Tolbert, a graduate of Fort Worth's O.D. Wyatt High School and Louisiana State University provided entertainment prior to the Celebration. Ms. Maria Sanchez, Assistant Superintendent, Secondary School Leadership for the Fort Worth ISD was special guest speaker.

This year's scholarship winners and finalists received a preview of what their high school experience will be like as they listened to a roundtable discussion with four Kennedale High School students, all of whom were past winners of a BBYF scholarship. Click "read more" to view more photos.
