Congratulations to 2025 Slugger Winner, Wehiwa Aloy!

Fort Worth, Texas - The Bobby Bragan National Collegiate Slugger Award (BBNCSA), presented by SR Bats, announced today that Wehiwa Aloy from the University of Arkansas has won the 2025 award as the nation’s top college baseball hitter. Aloy will be honored at a Gala in the fall in Fort Worth. The BBNCSA, created by the Bobby Bragan Youth Foundation, was open to nominations from all Division I baseball programs in the country. The award is based on performance at the plate, academics, and personal integrity.

“We are honored to name Wehiwa Aloy of Arkansas as the 2025 Bobby Bragan National Collegiate Slugger Award (BBNCSA) presented by SR Bats.” said Tracy Taylor, Executive Director of the Bobby Bragan National Collegiate Slugger Award. “Wehiwa had a tremendous season, leading the Hogs in several offensive categories, a College World Series berth and being named the SEC Player Of the Year.”

The BBNCSA has additional criteria and Aloy was just as outstanding in those areas. He was a member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll, maintains a high GPA, and engages in numerous community service efforts. Wehiwa Aloy truly represents the principles and values of the Bobby Bragan National Collegiate Slugger Award presented by SR Bats.  “I’m honored to be this year’s recipient of the Bobby Bragan National Collegiate Slugger Award.” Aloy said. “It’s truly a blessing to play at Arkansas and for the people back at home, too. The program means a lot to me and has felt like family the moment I stepped on campus. I love my teammates and coaches to death.”

“I would also like to recognize the Bobby Bragan National Collegiate Slugger Award Selection Committee for the work they did this season” said Taylor. “This was a very talented group of players, and it was a close race! The Selection Committee did a wonderful job in selecting Aloy as the winner of the 2025 Bobby Bragan National Collegiate Slugger Award presented by SR Bats.”

Aloy hit .350 for the year and led a talented Arkansas team in several offensive stats. In addition to being awarded SEC Player of the Year, he was named to multiple All American teams, a Golden Spikes Award Finalist, and a Dick Howser Trophy Finalist.

The BBNCSA originally started out in 2017 as an honor going to the top college hitter in Texas.  In 2019, the BBNCSA expanded, becoming a regional award covering Division I programs in Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico and Oklahoma. The BBNCSA became a national award in 2020; however, no winner was announced due to the COVID-19 virus which cut the 2020 college baseball season short. Texas Tech’s Hunter Hargrove won the initial BBNCSA in 2017. Dallas Baptist’s Devlin Granberg took home the honor in 2018 with Texas Tech’s Josh Jung winning the award in 2019. Connor Norby from East Carolina University won the BBNCSA in 2021 with Ivan Melendez from the University of Texas taking home the award in 2022. 2023’s winner was LSU’s outfielder Dylan Crews and Charlie Condon Of Georgia won the award in 2024.
